Lamination die technology is a leading edge technology which is different from the ordinary injection mold technology, it is multiple cavities are arranged in the direction of overlap in a pair of molds. This mold usually has multiple parting surfaces, each parting surface can be arranged with one or more cavities. Simply put, the laminated mold is equivalent to multiple pairs of single-layer molds stacked together, installed on an injection molding machine for injection molding production.
Compared with traditional mold, the clamping force of laminated mold is increased by 10%~25%, but the output can be increased by 90%~95%. Mold manufacturing requirements are basically the same as the traditional mold, and multiple cavities are combined in one pair of molds, so the mold manufacturing cycle is greatly shortened. Using high-efficiency laminated injection molds can yield twice or more the output of ordinary single-layer molds without the need to invest in additional machinery and equipment. It also saves the cost of installing machinery, equipment, expanding factories and adding new workers. The gating system of the lamination mold transfer the fluid to each parting surface, and the balanced flow control technology is the key to the design and manufacture of the lamination mold, which needs professional CAE analysis and hot runner technology.
Since the middle mold of the laminated mold cannot be fixed with the code template of the injection molding machine like an ordinary mold, it is necessary to fix the middle mold with some structure to prevent it from falling when the mold is opened. The traditional laminated mold is only supported by the guide column, the square guide column needs to be designed very large, the middle mold is easy to sag, and the single side open mold distance maximum will not exceed 500 mm, so if the mold has more inclined tops and structures, it cannot be applied.
